About Me

About Me

Hello, I'm Levi, an aspiring drummer. I've been interested in music for a long time, as long as I can remember I was air drumming to Metallica and blink 182 and singing along to my favorite songs. Being a kid peeking into the world of music, I first resorted to grabbing a mic and a guitar, that's what gets attention nowadays: melodies and lyrics. I had tried piano for a few years before and found that wasn't for me, then I tried vocals and found I didn't have a good voice for that, I was shy about my taste in music and didn't touch music until years later.

Luckily, my family is very musical. If one of us doesn't have a particular musical skill, we sure do have potential, it's only a matter of finding it. I found my skill in the video game Rock Band, surprise surprise. This video game simulates being in a band by having video game controllers that teaches at least one musical skill. It had this small drum kit with four plastic pads and a pedal, there was no inclination for me to play the atrocity, just luck. I rose through the difficulties of the game until it became too easy, and progression hit the Christmas of 2017 when I received an electronic drum set and lessons, upgraded the Christmas of '18, then an acoustic Yamaha stage custom birch kit in early 2019! I've never dropped the sticks since!

These beasts are huge! Although the electric needs a cymbal upgrade don't let it deceive you, it can play! On your left is a Roland hybrid kit with two modules: one supporting TD-10 module with the main TD-11brain module. The rig for the drum is a 14" snare (generally), with a 12" side snare, a 10" and 12" for the rack up top, with a 14" for the floor tom there, and a 20" kick. (Rigged for those diameters, not their actual size). A 17" china, 22" ride, 16" and 18" crashes, 12" hi hats. (Once again, looks deceive).

My acoustic Yamaha Stage Custom birch (cranberry red) drum kit on your right side however, cooks! Set up with a 14" snare, 10", 12" and 16" toms, cowbell, and a mean 22" kick powerhouse. The Zildjian A Custom cymbals steal the show however, with a 21" ride, 16" and 18" crashes, and 14" hi hats! Pedal setup remains DW 3000 series double kicks throughout each kit.
